July 12, 2001 Frank and Narda Walters of Las Vegas Nevada, the couple who are on a quest to catch a carp in all 50 states arrived here at Clear Lake Monday evening July 9 to catch Narda's California carp. Click here for the whole story with photos.

8th & 9th, 2001
October 14, 2001 Keith Thompson of Calcarpin.com and his brother Neil came up to M & M Campground on Friday and they really got into the fish. They caught so many fish Saturday morning that they lost count. Keith's biggest was a 23 pounder and Neil caught several in the 17 to 19 pound range. Mary and I showed up Sunday morning around 7:30am and found them both sleeping in their bivies after another night of action. Around 9:00am Mary hooked her first fish of the day, a hard fighting 15½ pounder. A short time later she hooked another good fish and then we all started catching. When Mary and I left at 3:00pm Keith and Neil had caught way too many fish to count and Mary ended up with 5 hooked and 3 landed including the 15½ pounder, I ended up with 9 hooked and 5 landed up to 14½ pounds. 2001 Click on the thumbnail for more photos. Keith and Neil fished most of the night and had plenty of action. My friend Andy and I arrived a little after 7:00am and we all fished till about 1:00pm. Keith and Neil caught a lot of fish throughout the morning. Neil caught a 24 pound 12 ounce monster, the biggest I have ever seen come out of Clear Lake so far and Keith caught a 21 pound 4 ouncer. Andy caught 2 about 16 pounds each and I only managed one about 17 pounds. Keith and Neil's combined total catch according to their count was a whopping 131 fish from Friday afternoon to Monday afternoon. Click here for photos including the 24.12 and 21.4.

November 4, 2001 Mary and I went to M & M Campground this morning for a little end of the season carping. It was a great session, especially for Mary, she caught 11 carp including a new PB of 18 pounds and a 9 pound channel catfish. I only managed 5 carp to about 15 pounds and 3 catfish from 12 to 16 pounds.
November 6, 2001 Paul Freeman from Millbrae CA and his brother-in-law Tommy came up to Clear Lake on Monday November 5 for an overnight session and my fishing buddy Andy and I joined them at M & M campground this morning. For an account of the action and some photos click here or on the pic.
