My good friend, part time neighbor and fellow CAG
member, Bill Cline came up for a week's stay on October 25th. Due to
various reasons we didn't really start fishing until Wednesday. I was
a little apprehensive about how the fishing would be due to the
drastic weather change we were experiencing. Evidently I didn't have
anything to worry about as we averaged 3 or 4 carp per 2 to 3 hour
session. Most of the fish were in the 8 to 12 lb range but we did
manage a few larger ones. On Friday afternoon Bill caught a new PB of
15 lbs. A little later he bested that one with another new PB of 16
lbs. Unfortunately we didn't get a photo of his 16 lb'er.
I caught several fish including a 16 lb'er earlier in
the week. On Saturday morning just as we were packing it in for the
day, I decided to make a last cast right where Bill had been fishing
and got an almost immediate screaming run. After a long hard battle I
landed a beautiful 19 lb'er. This was the biggest carp I have caught
since springtime. I was really sorry to steal that fish from Bill's
spot but that's fishing.
