I just posted a brief report on the "Fishing Reports" page of my site. There's really nothing new since most of the info is from this board but I thought I'd post it here for those of you that don't regularly visit my site or read all the posts here:

Catfish Update

I promised a brief catfish report before the derby but due to the lousy weather we had until last weekend, there really isn't much to report.

I talked to a few catfishermen that have been having some success lately but since they're fishing in the derby this weekend, they aren't talking until after it's over.

There are a few (very few) cats being caught in the south end of the lake at Bass Alley with jumbo minnows and mackerel. Cache Creek would normally be very good at this time of year but the water's not moving much because they're not letting hardly any water out from the dam. It's possible that they may start releasing water for Yolo County by this weekend due to the warmer weather but there's no way of knowing until it happens. If they do start releasing, the fishing in the creek should improve.

I heard of  25 and 20 lber's being caught in the Clearlake Oaks Keys with shrimp and crawdads plus a few smaller fish with crawlers but that's about it.

I haven't heard any reports on the north end of the lake, I've noticed quite a few shore anglers fishing Rodman Slough but they're not talking.

They're predicting windy weather for Friday and Saturday so we're planning to fish in the Keys to get away from the wind. We'll be in a 15 foot Gregor Baja with a 15 HP Johnson engine. If you spot us, stop by and say hi.

The best of luck to all the participants in the derby and we hope to see a lot of you at the awards ceremony on Sunday afternoon at the Clearlake Oaks Firehouse. The awards start at 1:00 PM.[/color]

I'll post a link to the results of the derby on my home page on Sunday evening or Monday morning at the latest (I'll also post it here on the board).
