my dad and I plan on being up there next weekend assuming its not storming like this one.........cleaned the boat up, killed all of the black widows we could find onboard so we are set to sleep onboat, replaced the tarps on the windbreaks so we are set to do some serious fishing...just need to get our quagga sticker at lakeshore bait and tackle

the sun ate the other tarps up into dust....

If anybody needs aplace to stay for the catfish derby, Bluefish Cove resort has a couple of cabins availible....I`ve been staying there 11 years now, could`nt think of staying any where else, I a beautiful place and it`s under new ownership, and they have done a lot to the place....They have a boat launch and docks, and bait and tackle right on site..... fisher
In 11 years that I`ve been staying there, there has been (2) 1st place finishes, with a derby record that still stands, (4) other top 5 finishes, and 14 other top 20 finishes...... angling So either that place has alot of good luck or has alot of good info or maybe both......PM me for a discount or check out bluefishcove.com,  and maybe you`ll be in those derby stats .....

Looks like the water temps are going to be cooler than last years derby.  Hopefully we can get a little spell of warm weather.  I'd like to at least have the water temps at 70 degrees, but I don't think it'll happen.

Catfish Derby Catfishermen...if your looking for a really nice place to stay during the Catfish Derby this  year...The Jules Resorts in Clearlake just remodel every cabin, I have to say what a great job  Thumbs up.  Kim and Bill the owners are great people who love catfishermen. The Resort is a half mile on the right from Redbud Ramp.

Sorry to say I can't make it this year to the Catfish Derby, I had a problem with hitting a very large tree under water, put a 6 inch hole in the bottom of my new boat while fishing in the Delta last weekend for Srtippers. The repair will not be finished in time for the Catfish Derby Embarrassed this is the first Catfish Derby I ve missed in 14 years.

Happy Fishing !

Oh man, that's a bummer.  You haven't had that boat but a month or two.  Hope no one got hurt & you were able to drive it back to the ramp.

I'm familiar with some areas of the delta, but when I'm in a new area, I always use the delta mapping chip on my fish finder to watch out for shallow areas and other obstructions.

Best of luck on the repairs and getting the boat back in a timely fashion.

Lucky, I was just around the corner from the boat ramp. My son ended up broking his arm and I got knock out of driver seat. The funny thing about the Delta , the large tree was under water in the middle of the channel. I ve fished that area for the last 10 years. Wrong place , wrong time!
"
Shore fishing, not a lot of places to do that! The place I have stayed at for the last 10 years or so, is now monthly rental only " Clearlake Resorts ". Im trying to get the dealer I purchased my new Lund from to loan me a boat  for the Catfish Derby weekend. So far its not going so good but who knows.
