Thank you LegCramp...kick some butt at the Catfish Derby this year! Remember 2 years ago when you where back in the Creek, down the way from the gun shots  angryfire...There are some Big Fish in that spot this year. 20 lb plus  fish. There feeding on Live Crawdads and Jumbos...You know the spot!!! Happy Fishing LegCramp! If you have forgotten that spot send me private e-mail.

Someone stopped by the shop yesterday and stated that certain individual with the pistol was prosecuted a short while ago and banned from fishing California waters for a period of time.

Can't confrim whether this is true or false, but this person knows  Elmer Fudd! Pistol-Bo-Peep  Elmer Fudd!  quite well.  Wink

that spot seems to turn off though when the boat parade begins, might try to slug it out in the open water all weekend depending on how badly the waves beat us up.....

Yup, the boat traffic in the creek can really hinder the bite.

I'll be doing the open water thing again this year.  See you out there.

We are there on Thursday for sure.  Plan to leave Sac around noon or 1.  Should be to your place by 5 at the very latest after we check in at the firehouse.

Ribeyes will hit the spot Thumbs up

A big thank you to KATFISH J for the info on bluefishcove. I've been fishing the derby for the past 8-10 years and have been looking for someplace new to stay besides the south end. Although its very nice just wanting to try somewhere besides Indian Island and the creek. Any suggestions??? Much appreciated!!! Thanks again J... fisher

Rattlesnake Island always produces money fish in the derby.  It doesn't hurt that most people release their fish in that area after weighing them at the firehouse.  Lots of holdovers. . .
