Lake Escape Resort reopens as Clearlake Cottages and Marina. New web link www.clearlakecottagesandmarina.com
I liked it when it opened before as lake escape after the remodel.. Now a couple of brothers from S.F. has bought it and are completely remodeling. Went by last weekend and took a tour with Anna of the cottages. Really doing a nice job. Prices seem higher than other resorts in area but it is all new and if you have a wife like mine... new and clean is worth me spending more money for. prices stated from 129 to 189.. anyway just an update. we will be up there week of june 14. hope the weather warms up before then. Long range forcast still calling for rain on memorial day weekend unsure What is going on with this weather?

Yes, I've noticed the activity going on for several weeks now.

Rates seem rather quite high, especially with the economy as it is.  crazy!  Guess time will tell, as it did with the previous owners. The facility is looking good, but what is the deal with the launch area?

The Highlands Inn just down the street is closed for business. Not sure if it is out of business, as Memorial Day Weekend is usually the start of the summer tourism season, but all of the resorts and motels lately have had almost empty parking lots.

The Highlands Inn is closed for business and up for sale, along with the Lamplighter Motel/Restaurant, which is also closed for business.

High winds several days ago uprooted this old tree and it fell across the parking lot at the Lamplighter Motel/Restaurant.

Possible price reduction?

Does the Lamplighter motel have it's own ramp and boat dock? Curious... Have 2 friends who retired about 4 years ago looking to open a resort/motel type place on clearlake.  unsure they feel that with the economy down like it is this would be a good time to buy, open and ride out the low spots????? I forwarded this link to them so maybe they will check it out.
