Well guys, since there aren't any catfish around here lately, I decided to drown a jumbo shiner off my back deck for a bass. I caught and released a 7.01 lb'er and she gave an excellent account of herself. Those of you that know me have heard me complain about how lousy most largemouths fight but this one must have thought she was a striper, it took me about 4 minutes to get her to the net. I was using microlite gear with 6lb test braid but still she did better than any largemouth I have ever caught before and I have caught 3 between 9 and 9.13 lbs.
