Witnessed promising results in a few areas yesterday.

Stopped off at the little cove by the Clearlake Park Post Office around 12:30 PM expecting to see the entire enclosure swamped in by algae mats, but, instead, there were only small patches of broken up algae mats in the corners. The majority of navigable water appeared clear of algae.

I noticed the county boat was tied up at the cement pad, so I'm assuming the cove was just recently cleared out.

Next stop was Austin Park Beach and it appeared to have been recently done as the solid mats were 75% gone.

Last stop was Thompson Harbor at Redbud Park. The main bays were pretty much clear of algae mats, except for small residual patches to the far right next to the seawall.

Although the bays appear clear, I would strongly suggest moving your vessel out to deeper clear water before firing up the main motor.

There are still high concentrations of solids below the surface in the launch areas, so chances of plugging up the water intake and overheating your motor could still be a factor.  zoo taz

Too soon to speculate if the problem is under control, but definitely an improvement.  Wink

Unfortunately, not much can be done about the foul odor for the moment, but I hope that will dissipate after the mats sink to the bottom.   Crosses fingers

Went by all three areas around 4:30 PM this afternoon and all three.... little cove in Clearlake Park, Austin Park Beach, and Thompson Harbor at Redbud Park were still fairly clear of algae mats.

The county boat is still tied up in that little cove, so I do not know if all three areas were worked on today.

Boat launching in Thompson Harbor at Redbud Park looks decent going into the weekend.  Thumbs up

I've been checking Thompson Harbor at Redbud Park everyday and have not observed any mats.  worthy

Same with Austin Park Beach and the little cove by the Clearlake Park Post Office.  worthy

Watched an air boat work the area in front of the Sunset Resort Friday afternoon.

Just came back from Thompson Harbor a while ago. Silverside minnows jumping every where I shined my spot light on.   nutty

Drove the entire shoreline from Redbud Park to the end of Oak Cove via Lakeshore Drive at noon today... roughly 5 mile stretch... no mats.  rock!

Sunset Resort, which was hit hardest last year with solid mats... currently clear.  worthy

Water quality looked pretty good. As I neared the top of the summit before going over the hill back home, I looked out over Jago Bay at the congestion of boats throwing up clean clear water pulling skiers and  Elmer Fudd!  wakeboarders... J/K.  nutty

If it were not for the heat, I would be out there fishing, but for now... north end... first light... off the water by 10... nap time by 12.  crazy2  nutty
