Fished off the bank opposite side of the reservoir from the dam from sunset until my eyes could no longer see the tip of my rod.... roughly 45 minutes.

Very first cast had tugs and boinks on a 1/16 oz. darthead 3/0 hook with a 3.5 " Gary Yamamoto Hologram tube in watermelon with small red/large black specks utilizing 6 lb. test line. Most likely juvenile bass or bluegill.

Second cast and I slowed down my retrieve... thump, tug, and the rod tip started pulling down.

Nice little 12-13 incher to the bank.  angling

Clean... nice color... no leeches... clean lateral line.  Thumbs up

Next 20 casts found me pulling up a lot of cabbage off the bottom, so I attached a medium size bobber, set the tube about 2' below it, then started casting to the edge of the weed beds and slowly twitching it back to the bank.

Several bass followed in the 10-13" range. There were several blow ups in the weed bed area I was targeting, so I am assuming it was larger bass inhaling frogs.

Cast as close as possible to the edge of the weeds to pop one of them toadsters, but light was quickly fading, and there is nothing worse than hanging up from the bank in the dark.  Tongue

Called it quits while luck was with me.

Now I know why float tubers love fishing this gem of a lake.

If only I was 100 lbs. lighter.

Does Peterbuilt make float tubes?  crazy2

Go ahead Big ED.... take your best shot!  woot

Just get a kayak. They're ideal for places like that.

A small plastic 2-man bass boat or one man pontoon boat would be great for this place.  Thumbs up

Small enough to throw in the back of the truck. Easy to launch. Just add a Group 24 Marine/RV deep cell battery with a 28 lb. thrust electric trolling motor and you're good to go.  Wink

Went back and fished it earlier this evening from the same area off the bank between sunset and dark.

Just the opposite results.  Tongue Maybe because of the warmer weather over the weekend?  unsure

Few taps, but no hook ups. Same darthead... same tube... same presentation.

Lots of bluegill feeding at the surface on bugs, but no splashes in the weed beds like last Friday.
