Went out Saturday morning and Sunday Late afternoon and tried my luck out on Lake Mendocino. Water temps ranged from 55 in the morning to a high of 60 mid day. The water is still pretty murky and the lake continues to rise. I would say it is at peak storage right now. If it comes up another foot the parking lot will be partially submerged.
Worked an LV 500 on some grassy flats most of Saturday. Lots of boats out there fishing in the same area. I managed one decent bass in about 4 hours of fishing.

Headed back out on Sunday around 3:30. Started out in Crappie Cove in the same spot as the day before. Several casts with the LV 500 and snagged one small fish but it surfaced quickly and shook the hook. Wind was bad so headed for boater's beach and some wind cover. Hit the small cove by boater's beach ans was working a 3/8oz black and blue jig w/ a cinnamon and black flake hula grub. This hog came up from under a log and grabbed my jig.

fish was 4lb 14oz, 22in. long, and 13in. girth.

He was released to fight another day.

My buddy also got some hits on his shad rap and landed one little largemouth with another that got off. The fish are starting to show up in my favorite spots and definitely more shallow than the last few weeks.
Hope you all had a great weekend.
