Bruce Ewen from Eureka Ca. with a 7 pound 8 ouncer caught and released off my back deck with a strawberry doughball on August 7, 2001 A 15 lb channel cat caught with a spinnerbait by Frank Alban while fishing for bass with guide Richard Pounds John Schiveley, 84 years young, caught this 23½ lb channel catfish off the pier at Edgewater Resort. on August 9, 2006. He was using a home-built rod, a Mitchell 300 reel, 12 lb test Cajun Red line and fishing with anchovies. It measured 35" and during the course of the battle, it spit up a 12" bass!
